Tolerance bully Barney Frank likens gay Republicans to ‘Uncle Tom’

No, really. He did. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said the Log Cabin Republicans got its name because its role model is Uncle Tom.

The group is called Log Cabin Republicans because their role model is Uncle Tom. #BarneyFrank #Gay #LGBT

How dare they not toe the leftist line, like good little pets!

Naturally, some on the oh-so-tolerant Left agree with Mr. Frank.

So honored to have met Barney Frank before his retirement. Such an inspiration to #LGBT Americans.

Such an inspiration! Of intolerance and hate. Perhaps he got his cue from this loving Twitter user, who has broken down slurs to hurl at people even further.

Or perhaps he took his cue from Village Voice writer Michael Musto, who said gay Republicans are like Jewish Nazis and black Klan members. Toe the leftist line, gays, or you will be punitively shamed!

Reprehensible.  Log Cabin Republicans have responded.

Barney Frank equates Log Cabin Republicans to “Uncle Toms.” LCR responds, labels Frank a bully. More here: http://t.co/Wmaem7AY

More from MetroWeekly.

Frank’s highly charged comments garnered a quick response from Executive Director of Log Cabin Republicans R. Clarke Cooper, who dismissed Frank’s comments, stating that they simply divide, distract and deceive.

“As far as Log Cabin Republicans are concerned, it’s a badge of honor to be attacked by a partisan hack like Barney Frank,” Cooper said in a statement. “We expect this kind of bile from Barney, especially when it plays into the Obama campaign’s efforts to divide, distract and deceive the American people.”

“Frank calls us ‘Uncle Toms’ and pretends that Log Cabin hasn’t been on the front lines of the fight for equality. The truth is, by speaking conservative to conservative about gay rights, Log Cabin Republicans are doing some of the hardest work in the movement, work that liberals like Barney are unwilling to do and couldn’t do if they tried,” Cooper added.

The Left seeks only to use gay people. They don’t actually care about them. They only care insofar as they can use gay people as a campaign tool. Those on the Left believe that there is dark magic in being gay; a magic so dark that it inextricably ties your political ideology to your sexual identity.

Those who are sane and who believe in individuality and personal freedom think otherwise.
