‘Grasping at straws’ Obama admin now imposing travel restrictions on West Africa

Can anybody explain why these just released and completely reasonable travel restrictions forcing passengers from the countries affected by Ebola to go through a limited number of U.S. airports were not put into place weeks ago?

Well, we mean a reason why these restrictions weren’t in place aside from the obvious that the president and his team now see Ebola as a political risk going into the midterms:
