Disgusting: Lefties whine about exposure to ‘9/11 porn’

“Never forget” — a simple two-word refrain that inspires us to treasure and defend our freedoms, honor our heroes and cherish the memories of nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost in the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.

But if you’re Pandagon’s Jesse Taylor, “never forget” is more of a threat than a reminder. Head-in-the-sand progressives don’t want us to remember who our enemies are or how vulnerable we become when complacency and political correctness replace vigilance. They refuse to acknowledge, much less relive the horror that shattered that perfect September day. They would rather disappear the words “jihad” and “terrorism” from the discourse.

To many on the Left, 9/11 is about haircuts and ESPN and avoiding any image that conjures up a harsh, uncomfortable reality that conflicts with progressive ideas. Where we see reminders of pain and courage, heartache and heroism, some see “masturbatory terror porn for red America.”

Ugh 9/11 season. Masturbatory terror porn time for red America. PTSD time for NYC.

Last September, a verminous Daily Kos blogger explained why the Left recoils at 9/11 “terrorism porn.”

I am sick of it. The media talks about people forgetting. Humans are designed to forget a traumatic experience. The media will not let us forget. We are constantly reminded of this horrific experience. We are not allowed to put it behind us. 9/11 is used as an excuse to murder beyond our borders without consequence, without mercy and without end.

That sentiment continues this year among those who embrace the Left’s avoidance of reality.

Cue the 9/11 porn in 3, 2, 1…

I hope NBC doesn't do that thing where they play the same "Today Show" coverage from 9/11/01. It's tragedy porn. Disgusting stuff.

Twitter = less 9/11 tragedy porn than Facebook. Want to be a patriot today? Try standing up for the rights of Americans – ALL of them.

I'm pretty glad we got most of the 9/11 grief porn out of our collective system last year.

Oh fuck. Tomorrow is 9/11. Or as I like to call it, disaster porn day. Avoid cable news at all costs.

The heart-clenching images of terrorists flying planes into the Twin Towers don’t get any easier to watch. The bodies falling from the sky aren’t any less chilling. And the final phone calls between loved ones don’t become any less painful to hear. Nor should they.

These sights and sounds are not “terror porn” designed to titillate red state America. They’re an unsettling prompt to remain vigilant and a reminder that America can and will endure.

The world is not your terror V-chip. Progressives are welcome to turn off their televisions if their goal is to forget the heartbreaking, infuriating evil inflicted upon our nation.

But the loved ones of those who perished will never forget.

The families of the eight children murdered by terrorists will never forget.

First responders who bear the scars of selfless bravery will never forget.

Survivors who can still smell and taste — yes, taste — the acrid, heavy plumes billowing out of lower Manhattan will never forget.

We cannot and must not allow ourselves to become numb to the monumental tragedy of 9/11, regardless of the Left’s vulgar attempts to erase the images from the public eye.
