‘Another victim group?’ Obama urging companies to adjust applicant screening

Tomorrow, President Obama will announce that 300 companies have agreed to a plan that the White House claims will boost hiring of the long-term unemployed, which is a problem Democrats have promised America was going to be alleviated by any number of previous jobs initiatives.

CNN’s Jake Tapper:

“Because they’ve been unemployed … so long, folks are looking at that gap in the resume and they’re weeding them out before these folks even get a chance for an interview,” said Obama.

“Do not screen people out of the hiring process just because they’ve been out of work for a long time,” said the President.
