Mark Knoller recounts president’s year on the links

Before jumping on CBS News’ Mark Knoller for trying to embarrass the president by reporting how many times he hit the golf course this year, keep in mind that Washington’s unofficial statistician has kept track of all sorts of White House activities.

It’s amazing that the president found time to golf at all, but he did. This summer, he even took the rare step of inviting along three Democrat holdouts from Congresswhose votes he needed to secure the Iran nuclear deal.

It would be nice if the president’s head-clearing rounds weren’t quite so pricey. Investor’s Business Daily reportedthat a weekend golf trip to Palm Springs in February cost$1.03 million, while flight costs for a long golf weekend with friends in Palm City, Fla., in March ran$805,000, or$20,406 per hole.
