Of course, Team Obama and the media (redundant) are making a big deal out of the former governor’s endorsement and “Charlie Crist” is trending on Twitter this morning.

Big story! In the alleged minds of members of the media. No word yet on when Biden will come out and say the Crist endorsement is a “big effing deal.” However, for the not easily hoodwinked, it is the opposite of a game changer.

Here's my shocked face: Remember Charlie Crist? the former FLA gov. who ran against Marco Rubio? He has endorsed Obama. http://t.co/sPRcwmeH

"I want to vote for whoever Charlie Cirst endorsed!" – nobody

If I had to guess, I think @MittRomney is relieved not to have Charlie Crist's endorsement. #tcot #Caring

More from The Miami Herald:

From Crist’s Tampa Bay Times op-ed:

I’ve studied, admired and gotten to know a lot of leaders in my life. Across Florida, in Washington and around the country, I’ve watched the failure of those who favor extreme rhetoric over sensible compromise, and I’ve seen how those who never lose sight of solutions sow the greatest successes.

As America prepares to pick our president for the next four years — and as Florida prepares once again to play a decisive role — I’m confident that President Barack Obama is the right leader for our state and the nation. I applaud and share his vision of a future built by a strong and confident middle class in an economy that gives us the opportunity to reap prosperity through hard work and personal responsibility. It is a vision of the future proven right by our history.

Bless his orange-y heart! He has “studied” leaders. Case closed! At least that part is truthful. All he could do is “study,” as he certainly has no experience with actually being a true leader himself.

How soon til Crist changes his mind? RT @keder "I want to vote for whoever Charlie Cirst endorsed!" – nobody

RT @bradcundiff I am so glad Charlie Crist of Orange is not a voice or face associated with the GOP anymore.

Charlie Crist's endorsement of #Obama will surely give BHO the crucial Oily-Butthurt-Phonies-With-No-Values-or-Standards vote

— Joe the Dissident (@joethepatriotic) August 26, 2012

Citizens also see right through Crist’s reasons for endorsing.

I thought that. RT@seanagnew i'm assuming charlie crist gets a prime time speaking slot in exchange for his coveted endorsement of obama.

Charlie Crist under truth serum: I'm endorsing Obama in 2012 so I can run for FL-GOV as a Dem in 2014.

— Matt Mackowiak (@MattMackowiak) August 26, 2012

Total fail.

Charlie Crist "hugged" Obama again. We saw how well that worked out last time. #SenatorRubio
