The invalidation of Nanny Bloomberg’s ban on sugary drinks larger than 16 oz. has drawn applause from both ends of the political spectrum. Sarah Palin was happy to have the government kept out of New York’s kitchens (in this case, at least), but she wasn’t alone. The Teamsters also cheered the striking down of the “job killing ban.”

Woot! NYC sugary drink ban overturned! nytimes.com/2013/03/12/nyr… #nypolitics @teamsternyc

The end of Mayor Bloomberg’s soda ban is a big #Teamster victory! teamsternation.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-big-… #1u #nypolitics

It’s not surprising that a ban on 17 oz. sodas would manage to bring together just about everyone, regardless of politics. What sort of person would support this kind of ridiculous government overreach in the first place?

If a Mayor can’t do things to make his city’s populace healthier – what’s the point of his job? Bloomberg’s 100% right on supersized soda.
