President Borg: Obama’s inauguration speech a call to ‘collective action’

Well, isn’t that special! According to The One, Celebration of the individual is so passé; collectivism is where it’s at. In his inauguration proclamation today, President Obama sang the praises of The Collective:

We do not believe that in this country, freedom is reserved for the lucky, or happiness for the few.

— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) January 21, 2013

Obama: It is the collective effort that ensures the individual’s realization of life, liberty and happiness. A declaration of conscience.

Now that he’s successfully held on to his throne, he no longer needs to be subtle about his desire to turn citizens into his own personal army of obedient Borg. Drooling libs fawned:

#PresObama inaugural #speech was a #powerful defense of #collective action. Great commemoration of #MartinLutherKing´s legacy

Love the ideas of collective action from President Obama’s speech #inaug2013

— Ashley Fiorilli (@AshNFio) January 21, 2013

Prez effectively took freedom back from Right as a tool for justice, progress and collective purpose.

— Katrina vandenHeuvel (@KatrinaNation) January 21, 2013

This is quite a progressive speech and I absolutely love it. Beautiful argument for collective action.

Doris Kearns Goodwin: Obama talked about “the few and the many,” not just campaign rhetoric. “Collective action” is government. #Inaug2013

— Pamela M. Harris (@PamMHarris) January 21, 2013

And government loves us, right? While lefty drones were falling to their knees in blind worship of Dear Leader, conservatives were voicing their utter disgust at Obama’s corruption of what it means to be an American:

“Preserving our individual freedom requires collective action.” – Obama ~ #CollectiveSalvation

— Adam Baldwin (@adamsbaldwin) January 21, 2013

Never in my whole life did I swear allegiance to a collective.

— Leslie Carbone (@lesliecarbone) January 21, 2013

Yay for the collective! RT @monicacrowley: “Individual freedoms require collective action.” And there you have it.

— Ben Howe (@BenHowe) January 21, 2013

“Collective action” is a euphemism meaning some govt bureaucrat is going to make me/you do something I/we don’t want to do

— Dedwards (@Dedwardssays) January 21, 2013

“Collective action” should never be used as a front for the dissolution of individual freedom. #inauguration

Individualism requires “collective action”?

— Jonathan Hoenig (@JonathanHoenig) January 21, 2013

“@jonathanhoenig: This speech, and @barackobama‘s philosophy, is pure collectivism.”

— Rschrim (@Rschrim) January 21, 2013

no.RT @kruddler: haha don’t you love the left?! RT @galtsgirl: RT @jonathanhoenig: Individualism requires “collective action”?

— Michelle Ray (@GaltsGirl) January 21, 2013

Obama: “preserving our individual freedoms ultimately requires collective action” this is why we can’t have nice things…

— Jake (@wastingjake) January 21, 2013

Collective Action…it takes a village’s paychecks.

— Snarkinsaw (@Snarkinsaw) January 21, 2013

Collectivism … leaving people behind since the mid-1800’s.

So, Obama called for “collective action” to solve our problems. He is a collectivist to the very core of his soul. Always has been.

Indeed he is. But we are not.

In the face of #tyranny, our #liberty will always win. The collective free spirit is stronger than any imagined #authority. #libertarian

Resistance is not futile, Mr. President. We will not be assimilated.
