Earlier today, before Senate Democrats — and six Republicans — voted to invoke cloture on the bill to extend long-term unemployment insurance, former Bush White House press secretary Ari Fleischer made an interesting observation:

It’s certainly felt that way to us.
Now, it’s worth noting that the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program was launched in 2008 during the Bush administration. But two wrongs don’t make a right. With the Senate voting to move the current bill forward, the massive economic hole we’re in will only get deeper.
And that’s nothing to crow about.
