Firefighters near Colorado Springs, Colo., are battling a 2,000 acre blaze that began in Waldo Canyon Saturday. A media briefing was held just after 5:30 p.m. MDT:

Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak are closed, and both mandatory and voluntary evacuations are underway in nearby areas.
