Heckled: Daily Caller reporter interrupts Obama’s remarks

http://twitter.com/#!/StevenTDennis/status/213697687038590977

Oh, my! As Twitchy reported earlier, President Obama was scheduled to give a statement on his latest power grab involving deportation waivers. He was an hour late and was not going to take any questions. Transparency!

Why even have reporters there if they're not allowed to ask questions?

— daveweigel (@daveweigel) June 15, 2012

The President’s remarks finally proceeded as nonsense-as-usual, once he deigned to grace us all with his presence. But, The Daily Caller’s Neil Munro had other ideas.

Tucker Carlson confirms to me that @NeilMunroDC of his Web site The Daily Caller was the reporter who interrupted President Obama's remarks.

RT @mikememoli: CNN cut to shot of Daily Caller reporter after Obama was interrupted. Not sure if was him doing the interrupting.

RT @jbendery: RT @MylesNMiller: The Daily Caller's @neilmunrodc just interrupted the President.

Man with temporary press credential shouts question at Pres Obama about the new policy. Pres tells him not to interrupt.

Heckler to Obama after Immigration announcement: "What about American workers who are unemployed while you import foreigners?"

— Sean Geary Higgins (@SeanGHiggins) June 15, 2012

One man repeatedly interrupted the President to ask, "Why do you favor foreigners over American workers?" #DREAMers

Obama says to man it's the right thing to do for the American people. Man interrupts: "is this the right thing to do for American workers?"

great pics RT @dougmillsnyt http://t.co/cGytt0YU Neil Munro interrupts the President http://t.co/zrYPj7PY

— Ed Henry (@edhenryTV) June 15, 2012

Heckler identified himself as Neil Monroe (sp?) with the Daily Caller. Says he's an immigrant himself. Then walked off.

Here’s the video of what went down:

Jokes commenced immediately.

Ugh that guy's gonna get sooo many followers

— Stefan Becket (@stefanjbecket) June 15, 2012

Between the Axelrod press conference, bus honking and Rose Garden heckling we have a trend story!

— Sam Stein (@samsteinhp) June 15, 2012

RT @pourmecoffee: POTUS interruptus.

— WhiteHousePressCorps (@whpresscorps) June 15, 2012

Of course, maybe the DC reporter really had to go to the bathroom after waiting an hour for the prez and couldn't wait any longer

— Drew Cline (@DrewHampshire) June 15, 2012

Some members of the press weren’t as amused.

@traviswhall interrupting the President, any president, is NOT doing your job

— Ed Henry (@edhenryTV) June 15, 2012

The consensus:MT @mikememoli: It was @NeilMunroDC //of the web based @TheDailyCaller. Whoever he is, interrupting any Pres is not helpful

— Kelly O'Donnell (@KellyO) June 15, 2012

The stunt dummy interrupting POTUS during statement hurts whatever cause he represents by being rude. #showrespect #cnn

— John King (@JohnKingCNN) June 15, 2012

One thing is sure, President Obama was not pleased with Mr. Munro.

RT @mpoindc: "I didn't ask for an argument," a visibly angry Obama says to the heckler/questioner.

— WhiteHousePressCorps (@whpresscorps) June 15, 2012

The President of the United States just ran away from a press conference with his tail between his legs.

— John Hayward (@Doc_0) June 15, 2012

Munro’s explanation?

Daily Caller's Munro on interrupting the President to CNBC's @JohnJHarwood: I was only asking question any reporter would ask

— CNBC (@CNBC) June 15, 2012

Corrects spelling: Reporter interrupting pres was Neil Munro of Daily Caller. He told WH reporters he shouted out "because you guys arent."

— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) June 15, 2012

Well. That’s true, isn’t it? And it worked.

New precedent: Shout questions at Pres DURING Rose Garden comments, they get answered.

— Brian Beutler (@brianbeutler) June 15, 2012

This is sure to be the hot topic in some circles all weekend! And may make a great test for potential new buddies. Do they giggle madly or do they get all serious, clasp pearls and gasp “my word! Decorum!” and then delve into an hour-long conversation about it?

This Neil Munro thing is going to be the talk of the salons and garden parties this week-end! #ohmystarsandgarters

— daveweigel (@daveweigel) June 15, 2012

Rut-roh.

Daily Caller founder Tucker Carlson says @PressSec has emailed him asking to talk, presumably about the reporter who interrupted Obama today
