Despite being jailed overnight for vandalism and facing a hearing in November, cable news commentator Mona Eltahawy seems to have won a victory already. The Blaze reports that New York’s Metropolitan Transit Authority on Thursday added language to its ad policy that allows the MTA to reject ads “which the MTA reasonably foresees would incite or provoke violence.”

Just to clarify, we’re talking about the MTA in New York City. In the United States.

OK an anti-Jihad ad is considered inciting violence? It makes me want to take a sign & drive to NY. #tcot http://t.co/HAVtie4q #tcot #p2

Remember when liberals said we had to accept flag-burning, *no matter how hateful and provocative that was,* because freedom demands it?

Muslim "expresses self" with violence, is immediately rewarded by city gov't agency with speech restrictions http://t.co/feWwcg6F

One would think "violence or breach of the peace" would be the actionable offense – NOT the1st Amendment protected ads. http://t.co/CoZLKDOx

Via @BillyHallowell, the MTA should be ashamed of themselves for caving to backward mental midgets like @MonaEltahawy http://t.co/NCrs9r6l

So, the Transit Authority is now the authority on what posters might cause otherwise reasonable commuters to become violent? We don’t imagine this scenario has crossed their minds, but it’s a good question.

@AaronWorthing @JamieLiamRyan @monaeltahawy If Republicans rioted, would NYT ban Democratic political ads?
