Obama campaigns in Wisconsin for first time in 220 days; Rainbow appears

President Obama campaigned today in Wisconsin for the first time since February, suggesting that the once solidly blue state isn’t quite so solid. A CNN/ORC poll released last month moved Winsconsin from “lean Obama” to “toss-up,” so why has it taken so long for the president to respond? Well, there has been a lot going on in the world, like the interview with the “Pimp with the Limp” and that critical Letterman appearance.
Obama was conspicuously absent from the state in June when voters decided to retain Gov. Scott Walker after a bitter recall attempt spearheaded by labor unions. As he explained at the time, “the truth of the matter is that as President of the United States, I’ve got a lot of responsibilities.” Now, though, the campaign has realized that Wisconsin had better be one of those responsibilities.

Obama reassured the crowd in this now-battleground state that we are one nation — the same message his campaign gave when it unveiled the flag of Obamerica on its online store.
