Alan Colmes agrees with study that conservatives are ‘low-effort’ thinkers

Thank goodness we have men like Alan Colmes to direct us to worthwhile studies like this:
“(P)olitical conservatism is promoted when people rely on low-effort thinking. When effortful, deliberate responding is disrupted or disengaged, thought processes become quick and efficient; these conditions promote conservative ideology… low-effort thought might promote political conservatism because its concepts are easier to process, and processing fluency increases attitude endorsement.”
In other words, conservatives believe in simple, straightforward concepts like freedom and personal responsibility because they themselves are simple — and lazy. Got it.
Funny that Colmes accuses conservatives of “low-effort thinking” when he so willingly engages in it himself.

Commenter carla5731 points out:
“Low-effort thinking is when the government does all of your thinking for you, and that is the definition of modern progressives.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
