Legitimate? Akin may write book; Twitter ‘shuts it down’ with mockery

Zing! Last night, reports surfaced that Rep. Akin is contemplating writing a book once he leaves Congress. Twitchy readers will remember Rep. Akin’s “legitimate rape” comments in which he claimed the female body has a way to “shut that whole thing down” (meaning pregnancy). Also impossible to forget? All the ensuing, and seemingly endless, attention the comments received.
Twitter remembers as well. Twitter users of all political stripes swiftly “shut down” the thought of a book with good, old-fashioned and legitimate mockery.
