Today the White House sent representatives to Capitol Hill to try to explain the Obama Administration’s changing story on Benghazi, Libya, and to try to put off political damage until after the election. They didn’t count on the aggressiveness of a number of House Republicans — including South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy, who turned heads when he called U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice a liar.

Gowdy’s hard-nosed questioning got the attention of the media:

Gowdy — volume goes to 11. #SpinalTap

Rep. Trey Gowdy: “This was never about a video. It was never spontaneous. This is terror, and I want to know why we were lied to.”

And it got the attention of grassroots conservatives on Twitter:

Gowdy: “This was never about a video, this was terror.” Yes, and this was the complete collapse of Obama’s policy of appeasement/apology

Gowdy….the pitbull….

The team at the Free Beacon probably summed it up best:

Trey Gowdy in #BEASTMODE right now…

— Wash. Free Beacon (@FreeBeacon) October 10, 2012

With pit bulls like Trey Gowdy charging hard after the truth, this is a bad time for President Obama to be hiding the facts from the American people.
