Whales Have A Little Known Secret… And It’s Absolutely Amazing. Check This Out.
Whales are majestic, mysterious creatures that populate the Earth’s seas and oceans. Most people know that whales are the largest mammals on earth (with the blue whale quite possibly being the largest animal on earth). It’s also commonly known that they sing to each other, they nurse their young with milk and they are insulated with thick layers of blubber… But did you know the can create rainbows? These whale rainbows (or whalebows, as we are now calling them) are formed when the creatures breach the water to breathe. It’s just as glorious as it sounds.
Whales hold their breath underwater (as they are mammals, just like us).
So when they surface to breathe, they need to exhale.
When they do, the create an explosion of vapor, causing a rainbow.
What other animal can say they breathe rainbows?
No other animal, in fact.
Not only are these creatures large and majestic…
Singing songs to each other…
And act quite gently around humans…
But they breathe rainbows. You win, whales. You win.
