Cory Booker mocks Nanny Bloomberg’s soda scaremongering

It’s on. The Newark mayor took a swipe at New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s nanny statism Saturday, tweeting that he had offered Newark kids their choice of large sugary drinks. They had a choice? The horror!
Shorter Cory Booker: size matters. Especially when it comes to sweet, sweet sugary goodness.
@CoryBooker Will you be running for mayor of NYC soon? Proposed Motto: #Cory Booker, Mayor Of The World, Large Sugary Drinks For All 😉

Now that he’s dead to the Obama administration, Booker is free to say what’s on his mind. We’d like a supersize portion of that, please.
UPDATE:
Sigh. Supersize portions of Cory Booker are never filling. You’re always hungry when he does damage control an hour later.
In all seriousness obesity is at epidemic levels. U may not like Bloomberg's means. But ends he seeks are just RT @snipershady: #NannyState

Whats getting lost in the "Nanny State" reaction, is the agonizing & expensive health care crisis we are in as a result of obesity.

But I confess, as a guy who loves Ben&Jerry's, french fries & cupcakes (often together). I know the most powerful change starts with oneself

Great responses. But Government does have a role. In Nwk we have been working on ending food deserts, increasing access to healthy food.

We've been working in public schools on education, setting aside govt land for urban gardens, and pushing bodegas to offer healthy options
— Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) June 9, 2012
"personal responsibility" is not enough 2 feed the poor, house homeless or address all societal ills . We have a problem and govt has a role
— Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) June 9, 2012
But at least he has a sense of humor about it:
You would have to pry the pint out of my cold dead hand RT @njdjlc: U can never get rid of Ben & Jerrys. That would be a crime
— Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) June 9, 2012
And at least he’s not quite in the running for Nanny of the Year.
No. He is gutsy & seeks noble ends but we're taking other measures 2 curb obesity RT @resnicow U going 2 follow @MikeBloomberg’s example?
