As Twitchy has reported, students of Goddard College in Vermont selected convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal to deliver the school’s commencement address. The video will be recorded in prison and played at the school’s commencement ceremony.
The school’s invitation to Abu-Jamal has been criticized widely, but a hashtag was started in support of a commencement address from Mumia:
Goddardites unite! @goddardcollege alums, students, faculty RT #supportmumiagraduationspeech to show your support.

Since they’re on the topic of “free speech”:
Mumia snuffed #DanielFaulkner 's free speech right out of him. #SupportMumiaGraduationSpeech

Why not a painting of him killing #DanielFaulkner – RT @laurelgreen: #GoddardCollege #supportmumiagraduationspeech pic.twitter.com/e5yxYs5BSw

#GoddardCollege: #DanielFaulkner doesn't #SupportMumiaGraduationSpeech because your speaker killed him – @PhillyPolice @FOPLodge5

You are demonstrating both free speech and poor judgment. @goddardcollege #SupportMumiaGraduationSpeech @samanthakolber #GoddardCollege

Because many Goddard students claim to support free speech so much, how about sending a speaking invitation to the widow of Daniel Faulkner, the officer Mumia Abu-Jamal was convicted of murdering? We’re sure she’d have something to say to them.
