#SupportJayCarney: Hilary Rosen pledges allegiance to lying liar Jay Carney
http://twitter.com/#!/jimgeraghty/status/334406774859915264
It’s been a rough few days for Jay Carney, what with all the bobbing and weaving he’s had to do to try and convince the White House press corps that his boss doesn’t know anything about anything. Like the Justice Department secretly obtaining AP reporters’ phone records, for instance. When asked about that at this afternoon’s press briefing, Carney couldn’t help but get all wee-wee’d up.
Poor guy … he’s under so much pressure. He could really use a friend right now. Thankfully, one of the three Hilary Rosens he knows personally is stepping up to the plate:
AP is not a victim. Neither are our freedoms. The Press is not immune to responsibility.#SupportJayCarney huff.to/19oEmHq
— Hilary Rosen (@hilaryr) May 14, 2013
Hear that, AP? Leave Jay alone! You guys were totally asking for what you got!
I guess somebody had to go with “The AP had it coming” defense twitter.com/hilaryr/status…
— Tim Miller (@Timodc) May 14, 2013
It was inevitable. What it was not, however, was intellectually consistent for Ms. Rosen:
In 2004, @hilaryr told Chris Matthews it was “not fair” for reporters to “pay the price” for leaks. nbcnews.com/id/6693489/ns/….
— Sean Davis (@seanmdav) May 14, 2013
Hi, @hilaryr. In 2004 you told Chris Matthews it was “not fair” for reporters to “pay the price” for gov’t leaks. What changed since then?
— Sean Davis (@seanmdav) May 14, 2013
Whoops.

And we don’t blame them.
Don’t cry for #JayCarney! Some huge corporate crony of @barackobama will turn around & hire him for big $. The revolving door.
— Laura Ingraham (@IngrahamAngle) May 14, 2013
The press are definitely accountable, @hilaryr. They are, however, not accountable to the government. That’s where you are wrong.
— Tabitha Hale (@TabithaHale) May 14, 2013
You want us to #SupportJayCarney, Hilary? Ask and you shall receive. The hashtag is currently trending nationally:
Though perhaps not for the reason you’d hoped. The press is not immune to responsibility — and you and your asinine hashtag are not immune to mockery.
