Here Are 21 Dog Breeds You Had No Idea Existed. It’s A Whole New World Of Cuteness.

, ,

No, these dogs aren’t Photoshopped. What you see are actual dog breeds from all over the world. It may seem like some bored graphic designer mixed some breeds together, but they are actually rare pups that you could buy yourself. You probably haven’t heard of the breeds before (or can pronounce their names) but write it down – they are awesome.

1. Azawakh: They look like greyhounds, but they most certainly are not. Just look at those curly tails.

2. Bergamasco Shepherd: These sheep dogs come with build in dreadlocks. No awesome grooming or Bob Marley music required.

3. Bracco Italiano: These sporting hounds are both athletic and cuddly. And awesome.

4. Catalburun: Split-nosed pointers are mainly from Turkey. Their unique nose is a result of breed inbreeding.

5. Caucasian Ovcharka: These dogs are from the Caucasus Mountains, where they protect their owners from bears and wolves.

6. Czechoslovakian Vlcak: If you have ever wanted a direwolf but got sad when you realize they are extinct, you can actually buy one of these dogs. They are close in size and coloring to what direwolves used to be.

7. Estrela Mountain Dog: This mountain dog was bred on Portugal to protect owners from dangerous wolves. Judging by their size, they were pretty successful.

8. Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen: This fancy pup is basically a schnauzer with a longer body… meaning it’s adorable.

9. Schapendoes: The Dutch sheep poodle may actually be the friendliest dog on earth. It’s also obviously one of the cutest.

10. Slovensky Cuvac: Cuvacs are known for being very close to their pack, but no one else. This dog would be your BFF.

11. Spanish Mastiff: Like other mastiffs, this dog is absolutely enormous. It also has a heart of gold.

12. Swedish Lapphund: There are only 1,200 of these dogs in the world and they’re pretty much all in Sweden. Lucky, lucky Sweden.

13. Wirehaired Vizsla: This is the fanciest-looking dog on the list. If only we had a monocle to give this friendly breed.

14. Appenzeller Sennenhunde: This is basically a short-haired Bernese Mountain dog. They’re great with kids, working and running. They are basically awesome.

15. Hovawart: They have the body of a golden retriever and the colorings of a rottweiler. These dogs were extinct at one point in recent history.

16. Kai Ken: The KK is a Japanese breed that was created to never shed, enjoy living indoors and star in its own anime.

17. Kooikerhondje: I doubt anyone can actually pronounce it’s name, but this little dog has been around since the 17th century. It can be found in many famous Dutch paintings.

18. Lancashire Heeler: Do you like corgis and doberman pinschers? Well then this awesome combination dog is for you.

19. Mudi: This dog breed never wants to leave your side and will never make a fuss. They’re better than most kids.

20. Pumi: These fluffy sweethearts are actually cold-blooded rat killers. But they still enjoy tummy rubs.

21. Russian Toy: This tiny, but beautiful, dog loves people and is one of the smallest dog breeds in the world. If you own one, you must also own a purse to carry it around in.

Now, should I adopt the direwolf or the Golden Rottweiler?
