House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer puts his foot in his mouth again

Sometimes it seems that House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) is the Joe Biden of rich, old, white, Democrats who aren’t Joe Biden. He says some pretty stupid things at inappropriate times.
Today he was speaking at a rally for Maryland Gubernatorial Candidate Anthony Brown.
It looks like Hoyer is introducing a “Dorf on Politics” skit, but he was the one serving up the awkward comedy.
Hmmm. As opposed to whom?
That and being named the “meanest” person in Congress on multiple occasions.
Well, Mikulski did spend ten years in the House of Representatives prior to becoming a Senator, so gerrymandering likely helped her get where she is.
Or unlike the man standing next to her. Ben Cardin “inherited” his first elected office from a relative in 1967.
