Sad Obama: I can party with the best of ‘em, but really, I’m so lonely!

http://twitter.com/#!/SonnyBunch/status/290873839762673664

Obama’s final question at today’s presser was about his reputation as a rather insular fellow. But let him be clear: he likes to party.

“I’m a pretty friendly guy and I like a good party.” — President Obama. Yes, he said that.

— The Fix (@TheFix) January 14, 2013

“I’m a pretty friendly guy,” declares the president after several prickly answers.

Obama: “I’m a pretty friendly guy and I like a good party.” #It‘sComeToThis

— Philip Klein (@philipaklein) January 14, 2013

“I’m a pretty friendly guy…and I like a good party.”???#obamapresser

— kirsten powers (@kirstenpowers10) January 14, 2013

You’re friendly enough, President Obama.

— Bill Hammond (@NYDNHammond) January 14, 2013

Someone should tell Obama he’s “likeable enough.”

— kirsten powers (@kirstenpowers10) January 14, 2013

Obama’s really greasing up the press with this soliloquy – I’m ready to party!

— Charlie Spiering (@charliespiering) January 14, 2013

But with all he’s got going on, it’s tough to let loose.

To be sure, he’d like to party with Republicans:

Shorter Obama: I have a white friend. His name is John Boehner.

— Randy Clemens (@bostonrandy) January 14, 2013

POTUS: “I like @johnboehner personally. When we played golf together we had a great time. But that didn’t get a deal done in 2011.” #tcot

— Jacqueline F. Bodnar (@JackieBodnar) January 14, 2013

RT @grahamdavida: Obama, making case for what a friendly guy he is, mocks John Boehner

— Melissa Clouthier (@MelissaTweets) January 14, 2013

But they’re just so meanypants!

You can tell how thin the President’s skin is by the length of time its taken him to answer this question.

— Ari Fleischer (@AriFleischer) January 14, 2013

Shorter Obama “Stop being mean to me”

— S.M (@redsteeze) January 14, 2013

Obama says people blast him for “being a big-spending socialist.” And then criticize him for not socializing enough.

— Neil King (@NKingofDC) January 14, 2013

Obama: Socializing with GOP members of Congress doesn’t stop them from calling me “a big-spending Socialist.”

— Olivier Knox (@OKnox) January 14, 2013

Get out your hankies — Obama is boo-hooing about Congress calling him names. Sticks and stones, Mr. President…

— toddstarnes (@toddstarnes) January 14, 2013

As evidenced by how they ostracized Charlie Crist:

POTUS: “It doesn’t look real good socializing w/ me.”

— David M. Drucker (@DavidMDrucker) January 14, 2013

Obama on GOPers getting punished for socializing/being chummy w/him: “Charlie Crist down in FL testifies to that.”

— Marc Caputo (@MarcACaputo) January 14, 2013

Yeah, it was only socializing with Obama that caused Republicans to turn against Charlie Crist. Nothing policy-wise, right?

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) January 14, 2013

And he can totally relate to Charlie. After all, he gets lonely in that big ol’ house of his:

Uh Oh. President is lonely–JUST LIKE JODIE FOSTER.

— John Podhoretz (@jpodhoretz) January 14, 2013

Obama: “I’m getting lonely in this big house.”

— toddstarnes (@toddstarnes) January 14, 2013

Awe Obama says he is feeling lonely. Well there’s a 16T debt that’s always looking for some company.

— Demetrius Minor (@dminor85) January 14, 2013

I’m a bit stunned that Obama just said he’s bored and needs someone to come over and keep him company. Seriously? #headdesk

— Eye on Politics (@EyeOnPolitics) January 14, 2013

Obama is spending more time on this “socializing” question, calling himself “lonely in this big ol’ house” than actual topics that matter.

— Lady Patriot (@Lady_Patriot) January 14, 2013

Even the media were mystified by the president’s bizarre wallowing:

POTUS seems to have just invited the entire House GOP caucus over to play cards with him and Carney.

— Glenn Thrush (@GlennThrush) January 14, 2013

Party at the WH! “Maybe a whole bunch of members of the House Republican caucus want to come over and socialize more.”

— Rebecca Berg (@rebeccagberg) January 14, 2013

I think Obama just invited House Republicans to a card game at the White House. Go fish or poker?

— Jansing & Co. (@JansingCo) January 14, 2013

.@terry_mcauliffe always up for a game of cards.

— Peter Hamby (@PeterHambyCNN) January 14, 2013

President Clinton was never lonely.

— Downtown Josh Brown (@ReformedBroker) January 14, 2013

Sitting in his room listening to the Cure’s greatest hits. #ObamaNeedsFriends

— Ana Marie Cox (@anamariecox) January 14, 2013

If Obama only realized Boehner likes Merlot and not Sangiovese, things would be so different bit.ly/SyPWh2

— Domenico Montanaro (@DomenicoNBC) January 14, 2013

@anamariecox he sent 2 aides into the House with notes saying – Am I Likable? Check box 1)..Are we friends? Check box 2)#obamaneedsfriends

— Chris Kuusela (@kuusela34) January 14, 2013

The thing is, that’s exactly the sort of thing we’d expect from President Boyfriend. Maybe he’ll start his own White House petition!

Wow that was quite of a stream of consciousness on why the president thinks he’s a social person. Painful.

— kirsten powers (@kirstenpowers10) January 14, 2013

I think for the next presser, Obama should answer while lying down on a therapist’s couch.

— Jonah Goldberg (@JonahNRO) January 14, 2013

And Joe Biden can interpret his Rorschach test results.

Starting to understand why many people genuinely dislike President Obama

— Justin Green (@JGreenDC) January 14, 2013

Awww … it’s hard out there for a president. He could really use a friend right about now.
