The New York Times is reporting tonight that an independent inquiry into the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11 places the brunt of the blame on the State Department for ignoring requests for guards and relying on local militias for protection.

The panel that conducted the inquiry suggested 29 improvements to prevent future incidents, all of which were accepted by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a letter to Congress. Clinton, who was scheduled to testify on Benghazi Thursday, is asking for $1.3 billion to make improvements in overseas security.

— Richard Grenell (@RichardGrenell) December 19, 2012

check the @foxnewswatch tape cuz i said weeks ago Pickering wouldn’t be able to blame a State Dept official.

you’ve got to respect the chutzpah to say “there were so many serious problems that we don’t know who to blame”
