There’s not a lot of comfort on the battlefield, for neither animals nor humans. It’s a terrifying and dreary place. So, it’s no wonder that during war they each seek out the other for protection, and a little reminder of home.
At first, these may just look like normal historical wartime photos. However, there’s something touching hiding in each and every one of them. These photos were taken of soldiers and their animal companions. They are touching in a way that most war photography is not.
