What This Giraffe Does As His Caretaker Is Dying Is Amazing. I’ve Never Seen Anything Like It.
This dying 54 year-old, known to the world as Mario, spent most of his life working at the Diergaarde Blijdorp zoo in Rotterdam, Holland. He cleaned the enclosures of the animals, becoming very close to them throughout the years. When he learned that he was dying, he had one final wish: to visit the zoo. The Ambulance Wish Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping terminal patients achieve their dreams, helped him out.
Mario spent years cleaning this giraffe’s enclosure. The animal seemed to know he was in his final days.
The giraffe didn’t hesitate to get close to Mario, seemingly giving him a kiss goodbye and nuzzling him.
He spent the majority of his life working at the zoo, and was beaming to be surrounded by the creatures and people he loved.
