Sophia Bush: Ann Romney, like, totally believes in women’s inferiority

The actress and proud lady part fancies her self a political pundit of sorts. Twitchy has documented her forays into political discourse, which all seem to revolve around Republican men keeping the wimmenz down. Yesterday, Bush widened the target of her foot-stompage to include Republican women, namely Ann Romney. You see, Bush thinks Romney believes that, as a woman, she is inherently inferior. That’s right: Bush, who epitomizes the Julia mentality, is accusing Romney of not thinking for herself. Irony much?
Bush tweeted out a link to an article at Free Wood Post, a satirical site, about Ann Romney ridiculing the idea of women’s equality:
“Why should women be paid equal to men? Men have been in the working world a lot longer and deserve to be paid at a higher rate. Heck, I’m a working mom and I’m not paid a dime. I depend on my husband to provide for me and my family, as should most women… and if a woman does work, she should be happy just to be out there in the working world and quit complaining that she’s not making as much as her male counterparts. I mean really, all this wanting to be equal nonsense is going to be detrimental to the future of women everywhere. Who’s going to want to hire a woman, or for that matter, even marry a woman who thinks she is the same, if not better than a man at any job. It’s almost laughable. C’mon now ladies, are you with me on this?”
Bush seemed pretty flabbergasted by the article, but when a follower pointed out that it was from a satirical site, she brushed it off as if she’d known all along.
@allie_hagan I know. It frightens me. Because its not far off from real statements! It’s 2012 people!

Of course she knew. And she spent the next several hours defending herself:
@brookesalas haven’t you ever read The Onion? It’s genius. Great commentary. And comedy is a wonderful avenue to start heavy discussions.
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
@kateinva if you followed me, you’d see that I did mention it. Twice, in fact. There’s only 140 characters avail @kooka1973 @bethanyjoylenz
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
@kateinva I assume my followers are smart enough to read THE GIANT BANNER ACROSS THE TOP OF THE WEBSITE. #justsayin
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
I work in comedy. I find satire brilliant & hilarious. And I assume people are smart enough to read GIANT WEBSITE BANNERS. #nuffsaid
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
She works in comedy, guys. She’s an expert on satire.
@corriecmartin my first tweet, which took up all 140 characters didn’t, but the site does, and I posted TWO tweets about it being satirical.
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
@aliciaderrough hahaha. Apparently they don’t have a dictionary OR a sense of humor.
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
@corriecmartin that would be your fault, dear. Not mine. If you can’t read before yelling, you might want to take a moment and breathe.
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
@saintbrittanyy well, dear, calling my appreciation of high brow satire “disgraceful” &”bs” is pretty damn nasty. Your assumption is on you.
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 19, 2012
“High brow”? Stand back, “dears.” Sophia Bush is high-brow.
So high-brow, in fact, that she doesn’t see anything wrong with slandering Romney. Yeah, it’s satire. But, like, Ann Romney would, like, totally denigrate women for realsies:
@nayabenelux @whitneyspierce it’s a site similar to the Onion. But what this little experiment proves is that it ain’t too far off the mark!
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
* Don’t forget to read site info/disclaimer peeps. Satire is just that. Scary thing, is it’s not far off from AR’s reality. #Women #2012 *
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
Let me reiterate:”Don’t forget to read site info/disclaimer. Satire is just that. Scary thing, is it’s not far off from AR’s reality” #Women
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
@meganwastestime and that’s why I posted the second comment about satire. Perhaps you should read more than one of my tweets.
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
@mnpatton me neither but the nasty vamps are coming out in force-The real funny comes from the fact that her words almost mirror the satire!
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 18, 2012
@courttttt11 yeah. I assumed most people would see that. But the really cry part is it’s not far off from reality! #IQisImportant #Satire
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 19, 2012
@shannonsedg it’s actually a great satirical site, however, it’s not far off from what she’s been saying recently. #scary
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 19, 2012
So, what makes it OK for Bush to take digs at Romney for things she never said? You guessed it: her vagina!
@tymarief Freedom of Speech. My twitter feed. And my vagina too. Perhaps it’s you who should #LearnSomeRespect
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) October 19, 2012
If Bush would take a moment to make the leap from her vagina to her brain, she might be more open to the truth about how women fare working under Democrats. She might also sound like less of an idiot.
