I have seen every #Oscar ceremony live on TV since I was 10 yrs old. That makes tonights ceremony the 45th straight for me. #notivo

Jon Cassar is an award-winning Hollywood director/producer whose credits include the TV series “24,” “The Kennedys,” “La Femme Nikita,” and many other shows. He’s also a devoted viewer of the Academy Awards. Like fans of all backgrounds, he was not turned on by Sunday’s Oscars program. Cassar tweeted a series of tips and advice for the producers of the event, which he said lacked class and gravity.
Is anyone in charge listening?
#Oscars – I wasn’t crazy about Seths songs about “seeing the actresses boobs” and “God bless the Losers” – I like it classy and that wasn’t

#Oscars – the other odd decision. They want to appeal to younger audience yet the musical numbers (except Les Mis) couldn’t have been older
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
The Presidential Inauguration and the #Oscars were the two classiest events on live TV. Not anymore.
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars – should be about the movies, & the people that make them. Its a night of respect 4 those individuals who produce the films we see
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars – It shouldn’t be about the host or the bad musical numbers or politics, it should be a celebration of the films themselves.
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
Hear, hear:
#Oscars – I’d even ban the red carpet fashion parade and have intelligent reporters asking questions about the films not the shoes.
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars – There should be tributes (better than that weak Bond One) montages of great films, reunions of great actors and directors
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars – …insight into the process of movie making – talk about all the films of the year, not just the nominated ones – celebrate them 2
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars – show us the funniest moments of the year- the scariest moments – make it about the movies – celebrate it all
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars – I haven’t missed a show in 45 yrs, thats because I love the movies and the people that make them. Its their night, respect that.
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars – I’m okay with musical numbers as long as they honor the film or they’re at least relevant. Les Mis was awesome. The rest no so much
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars – I’d rather have insight on Daniel Day’s process as an actor than what his wife is wearing to the event.
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars Here’s the best idea of all, let all the nominees submit a list of names of people they want to thank, and scroll them underneath…
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars …them as they accept their award, that way they can say something witty and be sincere without the laundry list of help
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars Thats why the Brits make the best speeches because they rarely thank their lawyers, agents and managers (DDL for example)
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
#Oscars Let the show appeal to those of us out there that love the movies and everything about them. If U want a variety show watch Idol
— Jon Cassar (@joncassar) February 25, 2013
Can Jon Cassar be in charge of producing the Oscars next year, please?
Stop this man! He’s making sense in Hollywood! “@joncassar: #Oscars – …make it about the movies…”
— Americo Alvarenga (@Americo76) February 25, 2013
@joncassar I agree 100%. As part of the younger audience, it just doesn’t come across very well. Class would be a nice change.

@joncassar I can not agree with you more. I am ashamed of the actors that have come out of my generation. No class at all
