So he DID do it, then? Colo. Springs ACLU co-chair resigns over threats to Trump voters

, , , , , ,

Well, gee. We thought so, too!

After all, Loring Wirbel, co-chair of the ACLU’s Colorado Springs chapter, deleted his Facebook post encouraging his followers tothreaten to shoot Trump voters. And not only that, but he claims his remarks were taken out of context:

Its very clear that wasnt my belief, that we shouldnt do that type of thing. That was all put together with comments from a bunch of other elements from other comments on other threads and presented as one unified whole as thoughI was doing the one advocating that Trump supporters should be shot or anything, which is just not me. I dont believe in violence against people, he told KRDO.

Nice try, Loring. But it’s pretty “clear” what you meant by this:

And now that he’s been busted, he’s reportedly resigning his position with the ACLU:

More from the Colorado Springs Gazette:

Wirbel told The Gazette Thursday night that the post wasn’t meant to be taken seriously.

“It was intended totally as a joke,” Wirbel said. “They are taking that stuff out of contest. It’s smear politics.”

Wirbel said he would never advocate for violence and that he sent in his resignation letter Friday, giving up his volunteer position with the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado.

Oh Lord, please don’t let him be misunderstood.
