Obama brought up Ferguson at the UN – are you kidding me?

President Obama spoke to the United Nations General Assembly today about the terrorist threat posed by ISIS and other extremist groups. During Obama’s speech he threw the situation in Ferguson, Mo. into the mix:
Pres at UN says: At times America has failed to live up to its own ideals, and we have plenty of our own problems – cites Ferguson, MO

Was Obama trying to equate Ferguson’s “racial and ethnic tensions” with Islamic terrorism?
Obama: America has plenty of problems too…then talks about Ferguson. #UNSpeech.

problem with bringing up Ferguson at the UnitedNations after talking about violent extremism is that it suggests they are morally equal.

The investigation in Ferguson hasn’t even been completed, as some noted:
Pretty odd considering the investigation hasn't been completed. https://t.co/20DKzI6qoq

Obama conceded @United Nations that the US has at times not lived up its ideals, including Ferguson, Mo.. Hey! Wait til ALL evidence is out
— Less Gov. More Fun. (@LessGovMoreFun) September 24, 2014
@ShannonBream Why is he talking about an open investigation like that?
— PrivilegedGuilt (@murgatr0id) September 24, 2014
@ShannonBream I can't stand watching him. What the hell is doing talking about Ferguson at the UN?
— John Swinford (@AG2Pearl) September 24, 2014
@ShannonBream Unbelievable
— SeaGrips63 (@SeaGrips63) September 24, 2014
@ShannonBream With Reagan it was Morning in America…With Obomba it's always mourning in America.

Bringing up Ferguson to the UN is classic Obama, reinforcing the belief in the rest of the world that America is a boiling cauldron of hate.

Typical Obama – can’t make a pre written speech with out more Blame USA .. Throw #Ferguson in for good measure. What a piece of work.
— Paul (@Jam1p) September 24, 2014
But there wasn’t all criticism for Obama:
Ferguson reference Obama at his best – a view of American exceptionalism that demands work, politics, change to make country better. #UNGA
