When Rick saw that his beloved pit bull Karma had fallen into a dirty river, he wasted no time before jumping in to rescue her. Even though dogs are man’s best friend, many people wouldn’t risk their lives for their pets. The river Rick had to rescue Karma from was so dirty, he wound up getting a nasty infection from his puppy-saving plunge.

When Rick, who is homeless, realized he’d have to go to the hospital, he dropped Karma off at the Villalobos Rescue Center so he could ensure that she’d be getting food, water, and top-of-the-line care while he was on the mend. When he didn’t return after two weeks, the rescue center began making arrangements to find Karma a new home. Luckily, for both Karma and Rick, he was able to come back to the rescue center just in time.
