Six Americans reported killed in two Afghanistan attacks

Secretary of State John Kerry has confirmed that six Americans, including four civilians and two service members, were killed in two attacks in Afghanistan today. CNN’s Steve Brusk related the details of Kerry’s account.

ABC News reports:

U.S. officials confirm that five Americans were killed in a car bomb blast in Qalat, the capital of the southern Afghan province of Zabul. The dead included three American military service members and two civilians. Another 10 people were injured in the blast, among them American military and civilian personnel, as well as Afghans.

Another American civilian was killed in a separate insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan, U.S. Forces Afghanistan said in a press release today.
