WH withdraws nomination of Debo Adegbile, nominated for top civil rights post but blocked by Dems unhappy with work for Mumia Abu-Jamal

In March, the Democrat-controlled Senate failed to confirm radical nominee Debo Adegbile, who was President Obama’s choice to head the Justice Department’s civil rights division. Adegbile having assisted in the representation of Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was convicted of killing a police officer in 1981, caused enough Democrats to vote “no” to derail the confirmation. Harry Reid called opposition to Adegbile “unfair guilt by association.”

Today, Adegbile officially withdrew a nomination that was clearly going nowhere:
