Clash with #BlackLivesMatter makes Bill Clinton No. 1 trend
Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton finally unleashed her campaign’s “secret weapon” this year, but it apparently has been in storage for quite a while and needs an update; consider Bill Clinton’s recent comparison of the contentious GOP debates to “those rap tunes on MTV”and today’s reference to kids “getting hopped up on crack.”
As far as we know, Clintonmight still be riding high on the claimthat he was the country’s “first black president” which was widely misinterpreted as a compliment. On the campaign trail today, though, he confronted #BlackLivesMatter protesters, and though he didn’t seem to know much about them, they had certainly done their research on his legacy, such as his 1994 crime bill and promise to deploy 100,000 new cops.
Clinton tops the list of trending topics on Twitter Thursday night, and not in a good way.

Trying to educate the protesters by steering their attention away from his criminal justice policiesand toward Africa was probably not the best move.

Slick Willie isn’t so slick anymore.
I just saw the clip of Bill Clinton's comments defending Hillary's "superpredator" statement. Bill was once a master orator. This was bad.

Not even a saxophone and sunglasses can save Bill Clinton from defending Hillary's "super predator" statement.

Bill Clinton dismissed both the impact of the crime bill & doubled down on defending language that even Hillary has distanced herself from.

Bill Clinton was once of the most gifted orators that I'd ever seen. That one SOTU was legendary. But today, he showed us a different side.

@deray when people show you who they truly are, believe them.

@deray TODAY he showed us? What about Ricky Rector, welfare reform, the crime bill, private prisons, NAFTA? Bill's been racist from the jump

Bill #Clinton and his lovely wife helped create the culture of police overreach, brutality, militarization and unaccountability.

@deray people called him the "first black president" so many times he started to believe it

Trump should come out and say the same exact thing, word for word, just so we can watch the contrast in the media. https://t.co/FmX2jcygxs

What’s the chance a sore throat or some similar excuse forces Bill off of the campaign trail and back to bed rest for the next few days?
