This Lion Looks Ferocious But He Refuses To Drop His Blankie For The Cutest Reason
When you think of an animal shelter, you probably picture a place where rescued cats and dogs stay until some kind soul takes it upon themselves to adopt them.
The majority of our nation’s shelters are just like that, but there are also organizations that house more…exotic animals. After all, dogs and cats aren’t the only ones who need somewhere to stay and rehabilitate after years of abuse and neglect.
That’s where places like In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center come in.
Lambert was illegally purchased by a family in Texas who wanted to give him to their children. Why? Well, because they liked “The Lion King,” of course.

After realizing that having a LION in their house was a bad idea, the family called numerous shelters to take him off their hands. Workers at In-Sync were tasked with bringing in the lion cub while he was only three months old.

Due to the new environment, Lambert suffered high levels of stress and discomfort. One In-Sync worker, Vicky Keahey, recognized this and decided to give him a blanket to try and comfort him. He soon crawled up on the blanket and fell right asleep.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
Ever since that day, Lambert doesn’t go anywhere without his blanket. He loves being curled up with it, especially when it’s fresh out of the dryer.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
Blankie fort FAIL….guess I’ll just sleep ON my blankie! (“They all stand around taking pictures of me….you would…

It’s been two years and Lambert is a grown, adult lion…but he still sleeps with his blanket every night.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
Aww look how much of a cutie-pie he is!
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
I have had some comments wondering if Lambert still slept with his blankie…….check it out! G’night sweet Lambert!

There’s no telling what would have happened to Lambert, had it not been for the incredible work of these kind folks. Thankfully, now he’s living a healthy, happy life without a worry in the world…except for maybe dirtying his blankie.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
G’night sweetheart…….Lambert waits patiently for Mama Vicky to make her rounds and tell him “night-night!”
