Michelle Malkin anticipates plants at CNN’s gun town hall
Someone must have reminded President Obama during his most recent Hawaiian vacation that he’d return to Washington with just a year to make good on all the components of his “fundamental transformation” of America. He’s been releasing prisoners from federal penitentiaries and Guantanamo Bay, fine tuning his criminal justice reforms with the cooperation of #BlackLivesMatter, and, of course, taking executive action to reduce gun violence.
CNN willhost President Obama tonight during a town hall meeting to cement his legacy as the president who solved America’s gun problem, and if you find your view of the president and Anderson Cooper obscured by shrubbery, that was an intentional act on the part of CNN’s set decorators, says Michelle Malkin.
Hillary Clinton might prefer to plant children among the attendees of her town hall meetings, but the president has more help. Writes Malkin at Real Clear Politics:
During the push for Obamacare, Democrat plants spread like kudzu across town hall propaganda events. At White House “citizen town halls” in 2009, Team Obama hand-picked not-so-random “random” questioners who included:
- An operative for the Washington, D.C.-based Health Care for America Now, the K Street Astroturf outfit with a $40 million budget to lobby for government-run health care that directed its activists to “drown out” opponents at town hall meetings.
- An “unemployed” cancer patient who was actually working for the DNC’s Organizing for America and the Virginia Organizing Project, which coordinated lobbying trips and health care forums with HCAN.
- A Democrat National Committee member and community blogger at Organizing for America.
- The 11-year-old daughter of a coordinator of Massachusetts Women for Obama who had donated thousands of dollars to the campaign, as had her law firm employer.
At least viewers can play “spot the plants” while the president goes on about closing the gun show loophole at the town hall.
