What a shock: National anthem protests top reason NFL viewers tuned out, survey finds
A new survey byJ.D. Power revealed that protests held during the national anthem were the top reason NFL viewers who watched fewer games last season tuned out.
WOW. So yes, protesting the National Anthem was extraordinarily costly to the NFL. https://t.co/27kJWOz7jD

Of more than9,200 people surveyed, only around 13 percent said they actually watched fewer games, but among those who did tune out, 26 percent said the protests were the reason. To be fair, the NFL’s “off-the-field image issues with domestic violence” and excessive game delays followed very closely at 24 percent.
Sportswriters tried to deny it for the whole year.

Funny how everyone in sports media denied it as it was happening

…but…but… they told me it wasn't!

It wasn't just the "protest" it was ESPN elevating him to a civil rights icon status and talking about it incessantly.

They rode that progressive horse out of town! And so did Kaepernick.

That and they wouldn't let the Cowboys wear socks showing support of Dallas Police who died protecting a protest.

That pissed me right off.

They didn't ask me. I stopped watching halfway thru the season. Too political for my taste. Maybe next yr it'll get back to normal.
