Dogs and cats are neglected and abused every day around the world, and many of them lose their lives. Fortunately, there are people out there willing to help. When a maintenance worker found a skinny dog clinging to life in a garbage chute, he brought him to the people he knew could save him.
Patrick was skin and bones when he was found, having been left outside to starve.

When his health deteriorated, the criminal owner pushed him down a garbage to plummet 22 stories to a trash bin. Miraculously, Patrick still survived.
Patrick got veterinary care in New Jersey, where he had surgery to remove an enormous hairball from his stomach so he could eat. His health started to improve.
