What A Vet Did To Comfort This Pup After Surgery Will Make You Melt Into A Puddle

Sometimes medicine can only do so much, and what a pup really needs to get better is some tender loving care. That’s what one technician at the Baltimore Animal Rescue Care Shelter realized when a beautiful girl named Sokka came out of surgery. Nobody thought she would even survive.

After her family had ignored a bloated belly for far too long, the eight-year-old lab was luckily rushed to the clinic with a badly infected uterus. When the infection was removed, the mass weighed more than six pounds. But she wasn’t out of the woods yet.

To keep her comforted while the anesthesia wore off, BARCS’ own Dennis Moses snuggled with her in a warm blanket, while playing her some relaxing tunes.

This sort of kindness is sure to soothe even the most excruciating pain.

But this isn’t the first time the surgical assistant has been caught snuggling with the patients.

Then again, it’s not just Dennis — the whole staff at BARCS seems to have genuine compassion for the animals they treat.

BARCS says their vision is to “become a model open admission shelter, a shelter that does not turn away an animal that has no place to go, and a true resource for the people and animals of Baltimore.” In 2013, the shelter saved the lives of 8,663 animals in need.
