American politics has seen its fair share of bizarre and absurd political figures: Donald Trump, Roseanne Barr, Jimmy Carter — the list goes on.

Yet, never in our wildest dreams did we think we would imagine a candidacy as mortifying as we were forced to confront today. Picture it. The lights go down at the Democratic convention, and the announcer declares,“Please welcome the next president of the United States, Kathy Griffin!”

We know, you’re breaking out in cold sweats right now, cuddling your security blanket in hopes that the scary red-haired lady will go away. Don’t worry, it’s only a tweet. Still, it’s enough to send shivers down your spine.

Unfortunately, not everyone thinks it’s entirely a bad idea.
