Gurbaksh Chahal, the now-former CEO of a San Francisco tech firm called RadiumOne, was sentenced to 25 hours of community service as the result of an alleged assault on his girlfriend, according to the Washington Free Beacon:

CCTV footage caught Gurbaksh Chahal, the CEO of San Francisco tech startup RadiumOne, kicking his girlfriend 117 times, including blows to the head, and trying to smother her with a pillow during a vicious 30-minute assault.

He faced 45 felony charges until the footage was deemed inadmissible. As a result, Chahal has managed to avoid jail time, the Daily Mail reported on Thursday.

According to police reports, Chahal also threated to kill his girlfriend several times.

When it comes to political affiliation, the Free Beacon reported that Chahal “has donated more than $100,000 since 2011, all of which went the Democratic Party and Democratic candidates.”

Guess which part of all that was missing from a ThinkProgress story about Chahal:

The failure to mention Chahal’s recent generous financial support of the Democrats didn’t escape some tweeters:

The fact that Chahal is a financial supporter of the party continually accusing their opponents of waging a “war on women” must not have been deemed relevant or ironic enough for inclusion in the ThinkProgress piece.

According to the Free Beacon, Chahal also visited the White House on two occasions in 2011 and 2012 to see the president and first lady.

Again, a detail apparently considered too minor to be mentioned.
