Scoop on Trump preparing to fire multiple staffers identified as leakers undergoes some patching
The awards recognizingthe new golden era of political journalism we’re all witnessing will go to reporters at the nation’s biggest newspapers, even though unnamed sources and leakers within the government seem to be the ones dishing all the dirt, true or not.
On Monday, Trey Yingst, chief White House correspondent for One America News, served up a scoop unlike the others we’ve seen so far: now unnamed sources are saying that three White House staffers have been identified as leakers and will be sent packing once the president returns from overseas.
SCOOP: Three White House staffers have been identified for leaking classified info. POTUS will fire 'multiple people' when he returns to DC.

Quite a few couldn’t help but notice that the scoop on government leakers being identified came from an unnamed source.

"Mr. President we found 3 staffers who leaked classified info. Should we fire them immediately?" Trump: No. Let's leak that we found them https://t.co/GYvmsFN5ML

let's leak that there was a leak and we found the leakers (who are not the president, who's confirmed he leaked) https://t.co/sbm5HNNIiN

@TreyYingst So, Trump found the leakers, and they're coming from inside the White House?

@TreyYingst This sounds like a ruse to try to flush out leakers who haven't actually been identified yet.

@TreyYingst Why would they wait to fire these staffers if they're a security risk? In-person firing may be more satisfying, but it's not safe to wait.
