Marlee Matlin: Bully Ann Coulter needs to be expelled from playground

Actress Marlee Matlin was among the first to call out Ann Coulter on her tweet last night calling the president a “retard.” Coulter has since doubled down on her remark, and as opinion is split over whether Coulter overstepped boundaries or not, we thought we’d compile Matlin’s tweets on the subject.
And you notice I won’t dignify the name that’s trending nor quote the offensive comment. Though we consider the source, it must be decried.

We officially have a bully on the political commentary playground and ti’s bout time for this bully to be expelled. Denounce hate speech.

Hate speech is hate speech. Pointing fingers, saying “but what about.” doesn’t wash. I’m a mom. I’ve heard it before. STOP the hate.

Good night. . Denounce hate in all forms. Refuse to give into negativity. Let’s hope for a more positive national dialogue.

A more positive national dialogue seems like a great thing, but could we lay off of some of those other “R” words too?
@marleematlin I completely agree with you, but where’s the outrage when tv pundits call any1 who is against Obama a racist? That’s an R word

@mikeksu91I refuse to play game “but he / she said it first.” I refuse to play any sort of “game” like that We all know what the R word is

Since Matlin is in Los Angeles, perhaps she could have a word with Mike Epps and have him expelled from the entertainment playground for his #TeamRetard swipe at Romney supporters?
