Testifying today before the House Oversight Committee, Secret Service director Julia Pierson admitted that maybe — just maybe — she bears some responsibility for the agency letting a deranged man break into the White House:
Secret Service chief Julia Pierson: Our security plan "not properly executed," "unacceptable," "I take full responsibility"
— HowardKurtz (@HowardKurtz) September 30, 2014
"I take full responsibility," says Julia Pierson of USSS response to WH intruder incident. "It will never happen again," she pledges.
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) September 30, 2014
It’ll never happen again as long as the Secret Service gets more money, she means.
USSS director Pierson: 'It is obvious that mistakes were made.' Her testimony has been at that level all day.
— Byron York (@ByronYork) September 30, 2014
Her leadership’s at that level, too. We’ve heard just about enough of this B.S. from her, haven’t you?
USSS Director takes full responsibility, knowing full well that that means she will get off with no real punishment.

Secret Service chief: "This is unacceptable and I take full responsibility." Translation: "LOL, you can't fire me."

How does the Secret Service allow an intruder in the White House and the director not lose their job? How?

If Pierson’s serious about taking responsibility, let’s see her put her money where her mouth is:
Good so she's resigning? RT @politico: House Oversight members focus on a breakdown of security at the White House pic.twitter.com/V3rH0l3ViQ

Pierson, like any good DC folk, "takes responsibility" for failure. If true, she'd resign. Accountability doesn't count if status unchanged
— Yo (@yo60640) September 30, 2014
Julia Pierson takes full responsibility…good then resign
— Andrew Coffey (@coffeygrinds) September 30, 2014
Julia Pierson, head of Secret Service, 'full responsibility, never happen again.' How 'bout 'full responsibility, I resign'? @SecretService
— John Webster (@webster1114) September 30, 2014
Respect the process & consequences for failures in the Office: Pierson should resign. @WhiteHouse

#SecretService director #Pierson should resign as a simple matter of ministerial responsibility-A debacle occurred on her watch, oust her-

#SecretService director #Pierson should resign.

After watching the first 15 minutes of #SecretService hearings, #Pierson needs to resign. Cold and completely detached from severity of this
— Kuala C. Chambers (@kcarr78) September 30, 2014
Julia Pierson's testimony on Capitol Hill today is an embarrassing disaster. She is the Dir. of the #SecretService ; she needs to resign.
— Rich Mento, CSA (@RichMentoCSA) September 30, 2014
If Julia Pierson had any class, she'd resign immediately.
— Matt Murphy (@MattMurph24) September 30, 2014
Without apology, I'd like to see Secret Service Director Julia Pierson out of a job. You got to go, lady. It's your failure.
— Bill in San diego (@BillntwrkBill) September 30, 2014
This woman sounds absolutely incompetent. Far better have resigned for far less. Julia Pierson: step down.
