New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker has signed his franchise tender with the team. By signing the contract, Wes Welker is guaranteed $9.5 million and at least one more year playing with Tom Brady and one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses.

Welker of course wanted a long-term deal, but signing his franchise tender only guarantees him one more season with the Patriots. Yet somehow we find it extremely difficult to feel sorry for someone who just cashed in over $9 million.
