An Antelope Was Surrounded By Hungry Hyenas. How He Escaped Them Is Pretty Genius.

Animals can be much smarter than what we give them credit for. A kudu was in some serious trouble in the middle of  Namibia’s Etosha National Park… when he did something so clever to save his own skin. The kudu, which is a large antelope species, was being chased by 14 hyenas that were hunting nearby. Those hungry hyenas could have done some serious damage, but this antelope found a way to safety.

The kudu was playing a dangerous game of tag with some hungry predators.

Then, the clever kudu saw his chance. A group of nearby zebras were wading through the watering hole.

So he made a run for it.

He slipped into their masses.

Then, safely made it out of the water with them.

The smart kudu started playing zebra, tricking the hyenas.

The herd of zebra later left the watering hole, and the kudu slipped away with them. Female kudus tend to live in small herds, but the males are solitary (making them easy targets for predators). Luckily, their cunning can keep them alive as was just shown by one clever kudu. (H/T Daily Mail)
